Ben Messinger

Ben Messinger, CFP®

Tri-Cities, WA

Ben has dedicated his entire career to professional financial planning and wealth management, joining HFG in 1997 as the firm’s first advisor alongside founder Ty Haberling. A graduate of Eastern Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a minor in economics, Ben earned his CFP® certification early in his career and has since guided clients through some of the most challenging market environments in recent history. His expertise centers on portfolio management, retirement planning, and trust and estate planning.

What drew Ben to HFG Trust was the firm’s commitment to true fiduciary responsibility—offering comprehensive, academically grounded wealth management long before fiduciary duty became widely recognized. He values most the moments when clients walk through the door anxious about their financial futures and leave feeling reassured and confident that their plans are on track.

Born and raised in St. Anthony, Idaho, in the shadow of the Tetons, Ben balances his professional life with a rich personal life. Outside the office, he has served as a Boy Scouts volunteer and school board director, and he’s earned the distinguished title of President’s Hundred Rifleman. A lifelong learner and outdoors enthusiast, Ben’s interests are teasingly diverse. His greatest loves, however, are his wife of over 25 years and their three children.
